European Peacock Butterfly (Aglais io)
'Today I went for a walk of just over an hour with
the local ranger of the area. We started around
12.15pm. He showed me around and told me nice
nature facts of the area. We came across a group
of herpers and they told us that they had seen
one Common European Adder and a few
Viviparous Lizards earlier on the day.
Unfortunately, the clouds started to increase
a bit, the temperature dropped and the wind
started to pick up a bit, so we only saw one
Viviparous Lizard darting away. We also saw a
European Peacock Butterfly, a Brimstone
Butterfly and a Three-horned Dung Beetle.'
